Discover Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Middle School Daycamp

This is a Broadening Participation in STEM initiative. Camps focus on support and empowerment of traditionally excluded populations in STEM including (but not limited to) the areas of socio-economic status, gender, 1st generation college, race, ethnicity, and ability. All are welcome to apply.
This day camp will introduce campers to the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Illinois ECE is world-renowned for its excellence in both teaching and research, our students and faculty are developing the innovations that will define the future of our industry. Topics covered include the fundamental building blocks of ECE, such as electronic circuits and digital logic. More advanced topics (probability and biomedical imaging) will also be introduced so that campers can gain an appreciation of the impact of technology advancements in ECE on our daily life.
Campers will:
- engage in daily hands-on learning activities taught by faculty in ECE
- visit state-of-the-art research and instructional facilities
- enjoy social events at various university-owned venues
- participate in a team project mentored by current ECE undergraduate students, which will accumulate towards a team presentation at the end of the camp
Note: Camp sessions will not take place on June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
Due to this being a day camp and housing is not provided, preference is given to local area students
